This paper explores the political influences and discourses that are enacted in and through education policy in Aotearoa New Zealand. Through this paper, students will develop an understanding of the political spectrum and be introduced to key ideologies, policies and reforms. Students will also assess the current political climate, emerging trends, and contemporary issues that impact education policy and how it is enacted in New Zealand.
