Sending honey samples

If you have been in contact with the Honey Research Unit about sending samples, here are further details to ensure smooth delivery. 

  • Please ensure that samples are in well-sealed plastic containers 

  • Each sample is labelled with sufficient details 

  • Send an electronic file with further sample information to the appropriate researcher.

International samples

New Zealand has very strict biosecurity regulations.  

International samples must be sent with a permit to the registered laboratory.

Honey samples for Research

To ensure that meaningful results are obtained, we want to ensure that mnuka honey used for research is authentic.胼疳s a Partner of the Honey Research Unit and want to help researchers access mnuka honey that is rated UMF 5+ or more. This is the minimum rating for meaningful bioactivity in this complex honey.&紳莉莽梯;
