The Te Tumu Whakaora Taiao: Environmental Research Institute鈥檚 focus is to produce world-class systems-level research and, through strong end-user relationships, successful outcomes for improved environmental resilience and management. In addition, the Institute aims to develop and enhance the capability, capacity and profile of the 51萝莉鈥檚 environmental researchers and its collaborators. The ERI鈥檚 research programmes are multi-disciplinary, drawing upon research expertise from the physical and social sciences, economics, engineering, planning, law and education. The Institute has the capability and capacity to address environmental issues across a range of ecosystems including terrestrial, freshwater, estuarine and marine.
